  • Dec 11, 2023 - Sound Transit has quietly requested that the Sound Transit Board approve seven more property acquisitions at the Dec. 14 System Expansion Committee meeting and subsequent approval at the full Board meeting on Dec. 15.  One of the new property acquisitions is a small strip of land near 41st and Bothell Way owned by the Sheridan Beach Community Club.  

  • Oct 9, 2023 - WSDOT has responded to the city’s request to reduce the speed limit and reduce lane widths (see “BRT Letters are available here" on this web page. They argue that though there are more homeowners turning on and off the highway, businesses in the more commercial 35 mph areas of Kenmore turn more often.  This plus the BAT lane acts as a safety buffer - but what about those giant buses coming down the hill at 40 mph?

  • Sept 24, 2023 - Join LFP mayoral candidate Tom French for his campaign kickoff, Oct. 4 at the LFP Civic Club.

  • Aug 10, 2023 -    Lake Forest Park City Council adopts resolution to ask WSDOT to lower speed limit on SR522 and send a letter to Sound Transit to redesign based on reduced lane widths, lowering/canting the wall to reduce noise.  See the technical data.  CORE supports lowering the speed but implores the Council to ALSO ask for bus-queues in any redesign and insist that Sound Transit redesigns the SR 522 project based on lower speeds.

  • July 6, 2023 -      Sound Transit CEO, Julie Timm, will appear at the July 13 Lake Forest Park City Council meeting.  Please join us in critical rally at 6:30 pm.

  • June 30, 2023 -   Sound Transit 90% drawings show little change despite opposition to the design from LFP residents and City Council.

  • May 21, 2023 -    Thanks to over 30 affected property owners for attending the May 18 meeting at the Sheridan Market.

  • May 18, 2023 -    Read the Urbanist "Controversy Brews in Lake Forest Park" which grossly misrepresents the impact of the retaining wall but also shows that our voices are starting to be heard.

  • May 14, 2023 -    Thanks to the many residents who showed up and spoke at the May 11 retaining wall meeting.  As a result the vote was postponed.
